Health, health care, and the many issues surrounding the fields are critical
topics of interest to individuals, families, and the general public.
Michigan Radio has responded by establishing its Health Care Reporting
Projects, a group of multi-year, on-going series of reports on key health
issues.
Started in 1998 with a generous grant from the Blue Cross Blue
Shield of Michigan Foundation, the projects have covered topics ranging from
the latest on federal and state health care policy to the use of literature
to help children deal with health care crises. Since the beginning,
Michigan Radio has added many partners, leading to special reporting
covering the health care safety net and senior health care issues.
