Mark Brush,
Technical Director - The Great Lakes Radio Consortium

I can still see it now, riding in the back of a slow moving convertible in Cincinnati, OH, fighting with my elder sister of two years, as my Dad throws toothbrushes to a cheering crowd. Life in the circus you say? No, life as the son of a Cincinnati city councilman where elections were held every two years and parades were a favorite event.

With those formative years behind me I moved to Ann Arbor, MI where I received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of Michigan. After time spent working and traveling the world, I came back to Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan in the Fall of '98. Two years later I received a Master's degree in Environmental Policy and Planning.

I've been with the Great Lakes Radio Consortium (GLRC) and Michigan Radio since 1998 learning the ins and outs of radio production, storytelling, grant writing, and non-profit budgets. Working for the GLRC has enabled me to merge my education with something I thoroughly enjoy - making good radio! Telling environmental stories is becoming more intriguing as we continue to learn about how the world works, and about our role in making it work.

What does the Technical Director of the GLRC do?
